Let us Pray the Collect for The Sunday Of The Lord's Resurrection
Almighty God, who through your only-begotten Son Jesus Christ overcame death and opened to us the gate of everlasting life: Grant that we, who celebrate with joy the day of the Lord’s resurrection, may be raised from the death of sin by your life-giving Spirit; through Jesus Christ our Lord, who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, now and for ever. Amen. |

A vigil is a period of wakefulness for a specific purpose. Historically, our church has observed a vigil following the Maundy Thursday liturgy of the washing of the feet and the stripping of the altar, continuing until the commencement of the Easter Vigil on Holy Saturday. During this vigil, it is appropriate to read portions of the Psalms or any of the Gospel readings for Holy Week, which will be provided to participants.
This time is not meant to be taken lightly or as a routine activity; it is an opportunity for meaningful conversation with God. While it may present challenges, it can also be a profoundly grace-filled experience. We encourage the entire church community to join the Lent Book Study Group in this vigil. A sign-up sheet is available in the cloister for those who wish to reserve specific hours for personal contemplation of Jesus’s last day on earth.

Letter from Presiding Bishop Sean Rowe: Good Friday Offering
“The history of the Good Friday Offering reaches back to 1922 when, in the aftermath of World War I, The Episcopal Church sought to create new relationships with and among the Christians of the Middle East. From these initial efforts which focused on a combination of relief work and the improvement of ecumenical and Anglican relations, the Good Friday Offering was created”
